Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Beta - VMware Edition -
MP Setup Guide
=============

This guide will focus on configuring Hamachi and Tunngle on the VM itself, so please install both programs on the VM.

Installers for both programs can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?wdrw4ib78n3i486

NOTE: At any stage when you need to enter in any text inside the VM, press Alt+Shift to change the language from Russian to English

Hamachi Instructions:
================

1) After you have downloaded the archive above on your PC, extract it to any location of your choice.

2) You can copy and paste the install file from your PC onto the desktop of the VM, do so.

3) Install Hamachi and wait for it to finish it's installation procedure.

4) Before adding the CSGO_RINRU network, we need to configure Hamachi's properties in Windows first

a) Right-click on the taskbar and choose the following option:

b) Next, we need to select the "Classic Start Menu" option in order to reveal the "My Network Places" icon:

c) Then choose the second option, and click on "OK" button:

d) On the desktop, right-click on the following icon:

e) Right-click on the Hamachi adapter and choose "Properties" (last option):

f) Next, first select TCP/IP and then click on the "Properties" button (highlighted as number 2):

g) Then click on the "Advanced" button:

h) Next, deselect the "Automatic Metric" checkbox:

i) And then add in a metric value of 10 (this can vary though and we may need to test various values, but 10 should work):

j) Click on the OK button twice to remove the two TCP/IP option dialog boxes and then click on this button:

k) Last but not least, we may also need to set the Hamachi adapter's priority in Windows, first open up this menu:

l) Then choose the second last option:

m) Now, select Hamachi and then click on the upward pointing green arrow twice until Hamachi is at the top:

n) And then click on the OK button:

o) Close the "My Network Places" window

5) Now we're going to add CSGO_RINRU as a network on Hamachi:

a) Select Network:

b) Then select "Join an Existing Network":

c) Press Alt+Shift to change from Russian to English and then type CSGO_RINRU as network with password 123 and click on Join.

The person who wants to host a game, will need to provide his Hamachi IP for the others, in the screenshots mine is 5.122.166.49.

VERY IMPORTANT:

For Hamachi, the host needs to create a text file called "Aliases" in his Hamachi directory in which he is going to specify the players that wants to join his server. Let's say I'm hosting with IP 5.122.166.49 and another person wants to join my server with IP 5.120.144.5, he won't be able to do so because the game will complain about the C- Class IP error message.

Inside this file you are going to specify the entries in the following manner:

5.120.144.5 5.122.144.5 (You can see that I changed the second value of his IP from 120 to reflect the second range of my address 122)

Therefore, you need to add entries like these for every single person on the Hamachi network that wants to join your server !

After you created the file, save it and then YOU MUST close down Hamachi and restart it in order for it to work.

d) Once everyone is in game the following needs to be done:

e) Everybody must enable the console (aka developer console if we want to be technical :-P) in the game's options.

f) The person hosting the game needs to type the following in the console once he is finished loading:

sv_lan 1          - (sets the game to LAN mode)
bot_quota 0    -  (removes all bots from the game to make space for other people)

NOTE: With bot_quota you can also set it to 9 (then it will only remove 1 bot from the game). BUT the game will also automatically remove a bot once another person connects to your game.

The people joining the game needs to type the following in the console:

connect "Specify Hamachi IP of host here"  so in other words if I were the host, then you'd type:

connect (there is a space here inbetween connect and the IP)  5.122.166.49

After that, you SHOULD be connecting to the person hosting the game :-)

It's quite a tedious procedure to create that file and specify IPs, however if it isn't a very large Hamachi network, then I suppose doing all that effort isn't that much, but Tunngle would be a better option though because it doesn't have that many options to configure

And that's it for Hamachi.

Tunngle Instructions:
=================

Tunggle doesn't have as many setup shinanigans like Hamachi. If I recall correctly for Tunngle you need to register yourself a Username and Password first before you can download the installer. However, if you downloaded it from the mediafire link above, then just register yourself an account on http://www.tunngle.net

1) After Tunngle is installed, and you run it from the desktop shortcut, it might show you this error message:

It might popup periodicly, just close it by clicking on that window's close button.

2) After you closed that error menu, be sure to enter in your account info:

3) If the error message pops up again, just close it, until you're logged into Tunngle:

4) In the "Network Search" dialog box, type in "Counter-Strike" without quotations, press Enter and then double click on "Counter-Strike Condition Zero" in the list to join that room:

5) Once everyone is in the room, a person can then talk with the other people wanting to join the game.

6) The person who wants to host a game, will need to provide his Tunngle IP for the others, in the screenshot mine is 7.11.183.57:

7) Once everyone is in game the following needs to be done:

a) Everybody must enable the console (aka developer console if we want to be technical :-P) in the game's options.

b) The person hosting the game needs to type the following in the console once he is finished loading:

sv_lan 1          - (sets the game to LAN mode)
bot_quota 0    -  (removes all bots from the game to make space for other people)

NOTE: With bot_quota you can also set it to 9 (then it will only remove 1 bot from the game). BUT the game will also automatically remove a bot once another person connects to your game.

The people joining the game needs to type the following in the console:

connect "Specify Tunngle IP of host here"  so in other words if I were the host, then you'd type:

connect (there is a space here inbetween connect and the IP)  7.11.183.57

After that, you SHOULD be connecting to the person hosting the game :-)

And that's it for Tunngle.

Final Notes:
==========

- If Tunngle doesn't work as intended (but it should) doing it with Hamachi for the connection procedure will
  be exactly the same.

- In Hamachi, you also have your own unique IP which you can see when you have the Hamachi client open.

- With Hamachi you need to be in the same network as the other person, otherwise you won't be able to
  connect to the host.

- One very important thing to remember, if you try Tunngle first, and want to use Hamachi afterwards, then you HAVE
to set the adapter's priority like I should under the Hamchi section.

- Same goes for Tunngle, if you used Hamachi first before trying to use Tunngle, you have to set Tunngle as the
adapter with top priority (same steps as for setting it for Hamachi). If you don't do this, then Tunngle will moan about
it and not log you in.

- If you update your game with any update but crashes on map load, do the following:

In order to fix the CTD problem you guys need to set VM's date to 10 March 2012 before starting the game. However, it can become tiresome after a while there is a program available that will set the date to 10 March for the game every single time you launch it.

The program is called "RunAsDate: and can be downloaded here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html

1) In the program itself, you need to select the csgo.exe file, then set the date to 10 March 2012 (10.03.2012) , leave the time on 0:00:00.

2) Uncheck the box that says "Move the time forward according to the real time" and "Check/Tick" the box that says "Immediate mode- Change the date immediately when the program starts"

3) Then type a name for the shortcut in the dialog box next to the text that says: "Create Desktop Shortcut ==>" and then click on the button to create a shortcut.

4) After the shortcut has been made, you can close the program and then run the game from the new shortcut.

And that's it, your game should be working without any problems running on version 1.0058 (or any other new version for that matter)  :Smile

Special credit to seerhan and GSOM900 for this solution.

And that concludes this guide, if there are any changes, I'll add them. Any questions, please feel free to ask, but I do believe I covered everything in detail.

If anyone would like to post this guide to another site,at least credit me as the creator and not pretend like you made it yourself. I will appreciate it also if you asked my permission first, before doing it as well.

Enjoy the beta version, mp style !

probably, because russians are really smart at this kind of stuff
Re: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BETA 2012.

Its unfair that the BETA is not public.
Everyone should play it.

He may not be Russian, but whoever worked on this release is 100% Russian.
Re: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BETA 2012.

Does it actually work?
Re: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BETA 2012.

BaNaNaMaN Wrote:Does it actually work?
Yeah bro it works, all you need is a powerfull PC.
ruplayer Wrote:He may not be Russian, but whoever worked on this release is 100% Russian.
Not really Smile its not that hard
1) Installed an OS on a virtual machine (VMware in this case)
2) Had Steam installed on the VMware machine
3) Activated a CS:GO Beta key in steam on the VM / or included a pre-activated key for us to activate on the VM ourselves
4) Then shared the actual VMWare hdd with the activated installation for us to download
5) Obviously it will only be playable against bots and not online
Re: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BETA 2012.

I said it's Russian, because of Russian localization on the screenshot....
Re: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BETA 2012.

Makes your PC laggy so I uninstalled it.
