I'm actually pretty much the only one who cares about forum activity. Our present admin's vote on new admins and they vote based on how much interaction they've had with the applicant. The problem is the people who are applying are either sitting quietly in the background when they play on the server so no one notices them, or they've left a bad impression on the admins when they were noticed. being active on the forums does help the present admin's notice you and pay attention to you in game though so it doesn't hurt. but that's basicall it. If you want to become an admin you need to show some initiative and get to know the current admins (don't suck up, just show them that you're a good fellow)
