install an anti virus software with hueristics (behaviour based scanning ) like norton , or mccafee , run a scan . and there u go .. they are the best anti virus softwares today ( arguably ) . it wudnt detect steam as a virus. there two products also seal off all ports of vulnurablity on ur network ..

I wouldn't recommend steam, shits a total virus like every scanning I've had detected it as a malware of some kind, regardless downloading TF2.
