What is psychopathy? - silly - Jun 15 2012
Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a pervasive pattern of disregard for the feelings of others and often the rules of society. Psychopaths have a lack of empathy and remorse, and have very shallow emotions.
Symptoms of psychopathy:
1. Glib and superficial
2. Egocentric and grandiose
3. Lack of remorse or guilt
4. Lack of empathy
5. Deceitful and manipulative
6. Shallow emotions
7. Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
8. Cunning/manipulative
9. Irresponsibility

I don't think we should treat "psychopaths" the same way we treat sane and normal people.
We should neither pity nor make jokes at them. It is extremely difficult for them to be rehabilitated. The best solution is to avoid.

If someone is born like that (and they can't change it), and as a result remorsefully murders or tortures innocent people, should they be guiltless and excused?

No, they need to be removed from society. It's not even about punishment imo.

They should be isolated from society, but given reasonable accommodations. You can't blame them anymore than you can blame a wild animal.
