Recovering Lost DRAM size - Spartacus - Oct 19 2012

Computer showed that error followed by a reboot.

After 3 cycles of that, i managed to get into the desktop

But then

Googled the problem. Solution might involved reseating my cpu. Or RMA it, as there might be some bent pins in the mobo.

whatever it is, it's not detecting 2 of my memory sticks..I'd be away for awhile.

I had the same problem , I had 12GB Ram but only 2GB was usable. I rebooted and started playing some CSS and Surf the Internet , after some time when i look back at the Memory it was back to normal! Cool

Double post

Try the other memory slots.. thats what I did to mine, and it works.

In the manual they say "put 1 memory in A1 and the other one in B1" mine are A1 and A2. works fine.

Currently i've slotted it in position 1 3 5..i tried 2 4 6 but pc won't boot up at all. makes a continuous beeping noise.

Use 2 only, and check all of them, see if they all work properly.

I've had this issue occur to me. The problem was bent pins on the LGA socket. You may have difficulty seeing them though.

Yeah, I got out a needle and started bending them. They're pretty fragile so try to be careful.
