My gf cracked screen on my laptop=( she put headphones on keyboard and closed it...

It's Asus g73jh. I checked prices, it's about 100 bucks to get a new screen. Do you think I can get it replaced myself and save money or it's easy to mess it up?

Thanks.

That's a pretty decent laptop. No you shouldn't do it yourself if your not experienced with computers. Spend the $100, better safe than sorry  Big Grin

100 bucks is only to get a screen, but if I take it to some shop, they are gonna charge for service...  I just bought it 3 months ago=(
oh hmm. Where did you get it from?

Amazon, it was refurbished. Original price 1800 - refurbished almost 1000, when I got it I had to update vbios to avoid GSOD problem and thats it. Overall this laptop is beast... runs ANY new game maxed with no problems at all. I saw a lot of people complaining about Call of Duty black ops performance issues, but when I got it, I set everything max including AA and got 50-70fps.

Oh i see. Yeah they are pretty difficult to convince them it was a manufacturing problem. I would suggest buying the screen and try to see if you can fix it. If it gets too difficult or you get nervous, just pay for the service  :Smile

Yeah but if you screw it up your gonna get real pissed. Again, just try to see if you can do it first. You should record what you do on a video camera so if you make a mistake you can undo your changes. :/
