An admin does not have to be present to a situation to make a decision on punishment. The original punishment was founded to be too small for the amount of bans present and thus increased.

Racism isn't tolerated at all on our servers. You should consider yourself lucky if you received anything short of a permanent ban.
I highly recommend you take a look at our rules and adjust your attitude and word choice while playing on our servers.
