I used this website http://www.igmdb.org to upload the pug demo found on this webpage https://war-lords.net/pugs/63002

the result was this https://youtu.be/W9Pv5ViHNEM

The camera's beginning position is i believe 0,0,0 the topish of mid & this lasts for 2 seconds. After these 2 seconds, every 23 seconds roughly exactly the camera switches through the players

Why is the camera behaving this way? i'd expect it to stay at it's beginning location throughout the entire demo- what one'd experience if they loaded up the demo themselves and didn't do any clicking or button pressing

in source one cannot load up an already existing demo and then record a new demo of what's being played back on screen. Is there a tool that allows the creation of new demos based on old demos for csConfusedource / source engine games? for quake for example there is UDT https://github.com/mightycow/uberdemotools with this tool are numerous features aiding players in navigating demos and accomplish what would otherwise be extremely and unavoidably time consuming. to the point- i would like to be made aware of a method to alter the pug demos that are automatically uploaded to the war lords pug histories in a way where the camera'd be focused on 1 player the entire time, or

2) a method to make a new cs source demo from an already existing demo (like record a demo after loading up a demo) or

3) a method or tool or some sort of script or something that will write a new demo after some parameters are specified like with this UDT program i mentioned, or

4), if none of this exists whatsoever at all then for Bison to put aside a weekend's worth of time to build a tool that accomplishes this. Bison's expertise and knowhow is perhaps best showcased with not only the entire pug system that we all know, love, and use on a day-to-day basis, and witnessed its perversion of by the nbk clan (which speaks to just how much of a tour de force his pug system is) but his bulletproof handmade anticheat, and i nominate him for this project putting my full trust in him doing a bang-up job on making this kind of program, thank you all for reading and i hope there is an already existing solution to my inquiry

also please note in the YouTube video that IGMDB produced, not only is there the •primary issue w/ the camera's behavior but there also exists the •translucent black bars on the top and bottom of the screen which can be closed by an active demo playbacker, and •lack of voice comms/voice was stripped from the demo for some reason, •perhaps more i didn't notice

please also inspect this forum thread https://war-lords.net/forum/thread-17061.html which discusses somewhat related matters

edit- i came across this- "Camera Man | The camera view in SourceTV is usually controlled by the auto-director module. Also a player, who joined the spectator team on the game server can become a camera man by pressing the USE key (usually 'E'). This will turn on his view as camera view for all spectators. The camera man can choose any spectator mode (First Person, Free Roaming etc), switch to any player or move around freely. The camera can be turned off by pressing USE again and the auto-director will take over again. Camera men should have a good knowledge of the general gameplay and practice camera movement before broadcasting live. A Dead player in spectator mode can't become a camera man." https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SourceTV

perhaps a pseudo solution is running source on both cps w/ one steam acct connected to sourcetv watching my pov/whoever it is i want to focus on for the duration of the pug. i will have to experiment with this. also i am guessing the 'auto director module' mentioned is what's responsible for the pov switching every 23 seconds after the first 2 seconds

some links that dont really solve the problem at all but worth putting somewhere for future reference

haha
Jesse, the built-in auto director for SourceTV has always been okay at best (it tries to switch to players where it thinks action will occur). If you want to watch a specific player during playback of the SourceTV demo, all you need to do is close the vgui options on the bottom, and change to the player you want watch.
hello and thank you for the response.

i can do that but i cannot record demo when i am playing back a sourcetv demo
Came in hoping for a fawn pug to be watching demos, left half way through wall of text and sad no pug.
