To me it looks like he got shot in his arm and kind of held it and kept running until fatal bullet caught him.

Short term conclusion: Another case of racial profiling and a trigger happy police force.

Or.... When the police tell you to STOP and GET ON THE GROUND...... Don't run, and then pull a gun on them... even acting like you have a gun, especially in the dark, can get you KILLED... The officers put their lives on the line every day and have a right to defend themselves in the execution of their duties.... Getting arrested if you have done nothing can be worked out later, that's what lawyers are for... Getting your ass shot off when it could have been avoided is just idiotic...

I'd understand if they shot him while he was running towards them and holding 'something' that could be a gun.
But this guy was running away. Unless he was shooting at them first I see no reason why they couldn't have just chased him

For whatever reason (we don't know, and weren't there to know what started this), they were after this guy... He CHOSE to run, to park the car, and either pointed a gun at the officers or ACTED like he was pointing a gun at the officers... This deserves a Darwin award for "Least Likely to Survive an Encounter with Police"... The officers are duty bound to pursue and arrest someone they are after.... They aren't gonna say "Oh, this guy just wants to be left alone, lets break off pursuit and go back to Dunkin Doughnuts..."
