Ive spent quite a bit of time playing CS:S on the wL servers and haven't had a problem with my latency.  I usually average around 30-40 ping on a server, especially the wL ones.  However, these past couple days, my average has gone up to about 100-120 on the wL servers, and every other server has remained in the 30-40 ping reason. What could be the cause of this issue? I dont believe it is on my end at all, because as I stated, every other server is fine besides the wL ones.
You need to do a trace route to the server and post it here. I'd share the link with you but I'm using my phone. Google tracert and the roots will be able to identify the issue.
Re: Latency on CS:S servers

This looks like a problem on your ISPs end. Your ping jumped to 100ms before leaving the qwest network.  :o
how can I check mine, please give instructions
To the OP contact your ISP and let them know theres a problem in their network.

To others heres a link on how to traceroute
