I've had that happen before.
It sounds like your steamclient.dll is glitching, a regular occurrence with nonsteam...you might want to try an older steamclient.dll from either the same or a different release, or another release.

ok i keep getting STEAM rejected when i try to join any servers i tryed War-lords Dust2 DM and i got
