High Latency Kick [CLOSED] - Raptor@ - Oct 31 2012

I recently noticed that some players are getting kicked for high latency..Sad
All that i want to know is
What is the ping limit on http://war-lords.net/ ??

RE: High Latency Kick [CLOSED] - Matt - Oct 31 2012

The lowest latency player + 500ms.

The minimum the ping kicker will kick you at is 500ms.

So if say the lowest latency player on the server has 15ms, the limit will be 515ms.

These new plugins are so confusing..:O
Anticamp
Network tools
Choke... Sad

If you have a ping over 500ms expect to be kicked, which is fair enough. You shouldn't have a ping like that from basically anywhere in the world unless you are having internet problems or just plain can't support it. In any case you shouldn't really be playing at that ping, the experience wouldn't be the best.

RE: High Latency Kick [CLOSED] - Lieutenant Josh - Oct 31 2012

Thats not a Fair title there bro, 500 Ping (ping does not equal latency mind you) is extreme as matt stated. Im pretty sure its the choke plugin kicking people. Yet i mean hey, if players actually paid attention to them and just took 5 minutes to google how to correct your rates and not get high choke(normally involves just resetting your rates) people wouldn't get kicked.
Most of the time its down to player rates, but if you're getting like 10 fps(my average is around 45 and i don't get choke warnings) you really gotta get a better comp then, because that is royally slow.

Josh you're being a bit pedantic with your terminology, in any case the plugin checks latency. He was kicked for high latency, not choke or loss.

RE: High Latency Kick [CLOSED] - Lieutenant Josh - Nov 01 2012

Hey i like the vocabulary,"pedantic" i like it, a word i know but that most people don't, i have new respect for you matt, im not being facetious either.

The Office server kinda needs this because if too many high pingers come in it really becomes unbearable at times. The amount of spikes reduced with the network tool is helping. Smile
