Actually, emotional conditions can be tracked, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Google, facebook, twitter all keep national emotion indices.
If I copy your deed and start living in your house, all I have done is copy information in order to justify my access to your property without needing your consent. When you copy a movie, you are simply copying information that allows you view a group of people performing without their consent. Sure only a few electrons may be inconvenienced in delivering the media to you, but it is at the direct expense of those who you are watching and deriving value from. Just because you can't physically hold it in your hand does not make it less real or less valuable.
Would you claim that you should be let in for free to all Broadway shows because information should be free?
