True. There's also an election sunday that's important for Merkel, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.  :Smile

Apart from her comment, I see a trend in Europe where the German stance (only austerity) seems to become less popular. Not only with voters ("leftist" parties gaining votes) but also among politicians and economists.


The funny thing is that the US is the one adopting a more "Keynes-inspired policy" and Europe hangs on to austerity while Europe is regarded as the more economic left one of the two.
