silly Wrote:Oh, and ced, what did you like about the seventh seal? I've watched it, but couldn't find it enjoyable tbh.
the seventh seal is amazing and ingmar bergman is a genius. It's an existential movie as the protagonist returns from the Crusades and contemplates the possibility that no God exists as the plague ravages his homeland and all of the people around him. What that means is that all of the people he killed in the Crusades and all his previous actions which before made up his identity were completely meaningless. As Death starts to follow him, the protagonist decides to do one last meaningful thing in his life, to find his own intrinsic values before he dies. Therefore, he continually attempts to cheat Death by first challenging him to a game of chess to ask him questions and later on knocks over the pieces. The movie was really emotional for me, especially the scenes of the black plague and the funerary processions that followed it.
