Yes, I was there at that time. And it seems like the story the player contests doesn't make sense. According to the Protest Section Guidelines, rule number 4 says:

  Protest Section Guidelines Wrote:Do NOT lie! It will only worsen your situation and likely make you ineligible for many of our unban programs including the hacker amnesty program.

In this case you are not perm banned. But your ban is being upgraded from 1 day to 3 days.
