Hmm, and I was under the impression most Americans don't take the drinking age too seriously.
Here the drinking age is 16. I started drinking alcohol at the age of 15 (at that time not much of course, but I did get drunk once and a while). Here most people drink when they go out (well after 21). I'm not talking about getting shitfaced every week, but I think drinking alcohol is embedded in our culture.
