Israel's Netanyahu responds to Palestinian letter
#21
The main reason why the US government are particularly interested and involved in the recent Arab Spring events, particularly Syria, was never about instilling democracy or to remove a "dictator". If that was their main priority, they would have already invaded North Korea a long time ago.

There is a power play at hand. Countries like Syria and Libya are being used as a proxy, or chess pawns in these games that they play. In Syria, the government is supported by the Russians and the Iranians with arms. The rebels, on the other hand, are being "supported" by the US, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar (MacFarquhar, 2012).

However, from another point of view, the situation in Syria has escalated to sectarian violence. A little short info of Syrian's government.

Quote:"Sunni Muslims do not recognize Alawi as Muslims. At least one source has compared them to Baha'is, Babis, Bektashis, Ahmadis, and 'similar groups that have arisen within the Muslim community', and declared that 'it has always been the consensus of the Muslim Ulama, both Sunni and Shi'i, that the Nusayri Alawi are kuffar (unbelievers) and mushrikun (polytheists).'"
Hafez al-Assad's "coming to power has been compared to 'an untouchable becoming maharajah in India or a Jew becoming tsar in Russia—an unprecedented development shocking to the majority population which had monopolized power for so many centuries.'"
Syria's wiki

Assad government - Shi'ite(minority), Majority - Sunnis.
be the best version of yourself, that's all you can do.
