Yang: If you're going to have a scientific perspective (the evidenced perspective), the human mind is finite/limited (restricted by our brain and its neurons). And yes, they did focus on his "ability" because that's what the short documentary was actually about. The fact is that his talent is remarkable, it's not impossible, but it's very rare and interesting. Of course he wouldn't be a good swordsman, but that's not relevant at all. Also yang, there are such things as "impossible boundaries" or "limits". A person cannot literally fly with only their body and nor can they cannot naturally jump 20 metres into the air (from a regular surface). There is a "limit" to how high they can jump, there is a "limit" to how far we can see, and similarly, to how sensitive and distinguished our sense of hearing is. The psychologist wanted to figure out what this boy's limits were in terms of his hearing so that they could better understand his ability. I'd be willing to bet that Miyamoto wasn't able to use a biological form of sonar to navigate around.
