ANNE Hathaway screamed for help after getting caught in a rip and cutting her foot. Luckily, a nearby surfer and her husband came to the rescue.

The Les Miserables star, 31, was swimming off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, on Wednesday when she got caught in a strong rip, RadarOnline reports.

A surfer came to the rescue and her husband Adam Shulman fetched a first aid kit and attended to her foot.

He sucked on it, presumably to get any sand out of the cut, as Hathaway put her hands over her eyes in either pain or embarrassment.

Shulman applied what appeared to be an antiseptic solution to the cut and covered it with a Band Aid.

Hathaway rewarded her knight-in-shining-armour with a appreciative kiss after he had tended to her foot.

Hathaway reportedly didn't let the incident stop her from entering the water later that day, grabbing a body board and heading back into the water, albeit alongside her husband this time.
