World cup only benefits outsiders?

They should really take a look at the long term effects, as yes the government will be spending billions and the return will take years to come, but it does help the country. Improvements are made to welcome the world on a grand scale, infrastructure, new buildings, repairs of old buildings etc etc etc. What the people are doing instead, as the money is already spent, is destroying more of government and public property which is just plain stupid. The respectable and law abiding citizen will have to pick up the tab for these criminals.

So sad to see Brazil like this, I am 85% sure I am buying my tickets in August for World Cup 2014.
