Go Windows 8 and your PC will automatically commit suicide... Wait for 9! Rumors have it they are pushing for next year release with DX12.

Try Windows 8, GUI might be shit but having 1GB of ram or having 16GB of ram doesn't make difference in boot, faster!

Windows 8 isn't really meant for gaming (that is, if the op wanted a gaming pc), unless you have more than decent specs of the laptop. :/

No developer has officially switched to Win8. So more times than usual Windows 8 needs patching for many of the bugs rofl. I guess they are all holding off to see what Win9 will bring.

I suspect it could be a physical problem.

BSOD usually is. Most of the times its RAM/GPU/HD. If you are unlucky it is the CPU or the Motherboard which are harder to diagnose.

1) Try using the on board GPU (motherboard) and see if the problem still persist (to see whether or not it is the GPU).
2) If you have more than one RAM stick try remove the rest and run the computer with only one stick. Rinse repeat and see if it is one of the sticks that is giving you the problem
3) If it is your HD it is a little trickier, and I would recommend having a friend bring his HD in to try it on your computer, or if you have a secondary HD, install Windows on that one, and remove your primary one.

If it is a motherboard issue troubleshooting the above with all of them still giving you the error it might be the motherboard/cpu. But again, it sucks when it is a hardware issue Sad

The same problem you are having I had with my HD, so I would start with that if you can. Even externals can boot Windows if you make sure your boot options is set correctly!

Good luck bud!

Google your stop code error 0x00000119
Code:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-system/windows-7-blue-screen-stop-0x00000119/e11a1eb3-56e6-46be-b614-69b5d79ca2ba

Shutdown, unplug , pull all memory & test with one stick at a time(corrupted ram stick?).
Pull & reseat the gfx card , unplug all unnessesary devices & boot up.
Try with a different power supply too , common issue.

If you aren't running the final bios you should be , that's an obsolete intel line(fixes memory , gfx & cpu issues commonly).
Code:
http://ark.intel.com/products/37150/Intel-Core-i7-950-Processor-8M-Cache-3_06-GHz-4_80-GTs-Intel-QPI

Uninstall any recent software / driver changes if all else doesn't help & check it's not dust overheating cpu / gfx card , insufficient cooling is a problem you can do without (overheat causes random reboots & bluescreeening sometimes).

Test with a different gfx card if you have one lying around & post problem on amd's support site.

Sounds like you need the BFH to fix this issue.
