So this was driving me thoroughly nuts this morning, but i ended up figuring out how to remove it.

for those interested.

1. Uncheck the  'auto help' feature in options-multiplayer-advanced
2. download the below linked folder and file and place in your cstrike/sound folder, so it paths like cstrike/sound/ui/hint.wav. the actual hint.wav file is contained in the game files gfc, but placing this folder/file in the appropriate location tells the game to use that sound file instead (which is just 1 second of silence).

What annoying hint box? o.O

theres a 'hint box' in the middle of the screen that pops up with 'sprayed by', 'teamspeak server.....',etc,etc. it also pops up with this highly annoying sound by default.

It's a nice plug-in until you're watching a corner or something with a spray behind your crosshair so all you hear is the sound of that hint-box popping up constantly. :-\

Lol. Im sure it can be replaced in the server files so it affects everyone.

It's annoying at first, but I got used it, somehow.

I don't realize the sound, isee it pop up "spray by ..." But that is bottom of my screen, far away from my crosshair =/. And I only realize the sound once in a great while.

I haven't ever heard this sound. Not sure if I had already changed a setting or not though. Is it like a ding or something?
