Help Joker upgrade his computer!
#1
I want to upgrade my computer for BattleField 3. I'd like to do it budget since gaming isn't a large part of my life anymore, and I have a ton of things I need to spend my money on.

Current stats:
Gigabyte P35T-DQ6 Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128055)
Intel QQ6600 (Stock, 2.4ghz, running a different Fan)
2GB DDR3, no-name RAM (Looking to upgrade this first to 4GB)
650GB HD + 100GB Raptor Harddrive
Intel 8800 GTS G92, 512mb version.

Have at it.

You Should only need a graphics card and ram upgrade.

No reason in rebuilding the whole thing until you want to drop a lot of money onto it.

I'm really only looking at the Graphics & Ram. Hoping to keep the RAM under <$50 and the GFX under $200.

Thanks Spiffy!

I forgot to mention, my MB only supports up to DDR3 1333, and only certain 1333 RAM apparently,

Are those cards going to be able to play BF3 on direct x 11 with maxed settings though  \”
I think getting older “ higher spec “ direct x 10 cards that will max out direct 10 with maxed settings would be better visually and game play wise then a low tier direct x 11 card....

It looks like your mobo can't support larger than 2GB per slot. So in that case, an additional 4gb should be okay:

4gb, $26.00

And Radeon 6870 and GTX560ti are low end DX11 cards? huh?  :o

His budget is less than $200.

For the money, the cards I listed are killer cards. I have Crossfire 6870s and it's better value than one 6970.
