Glad I could help. Also, what do you already have, like Monitor, case..?

And make sure you calculate the PSU if you get the GTX 480, if the results be like 289, go with a 350 just to prevent.

Good Luck Wink.

Links that can help you:

1. VideoCard Benchmark
2. Comparison between GPUs
3. Forum to ask other people (tips, questions, get to know more, Etc.. useful)

I have a brand new monitor. My psu is fine as well as my case. one of my case fans is broken so I may end up getting a new case. That's only if I need to.

Just buy a new fan, they're pretty cheap.

www.reddit.com/r/buildapc people over there are pretty helpful with critiquing builds and suggesting sales and what not. I plan on posting my build when I'm done finalizing it over there for some last minute scrutinizing.

I bought some cool stuff when i built my desktop...

as fuzzy said, i5-25k has almost no difference than i7 series.
however, as ivy came out, my CPU is kinda... little less advanced than before
http://www.pcworld.com/article/171556/in...ained.html

if you have ivy bridge, you will have increased incorporated CPU-GPU unit, which is known as intel HD graphics.
which, if you don't buy the GPU.
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2405317,00.asp

but. what kind of fuckin idiot would not buy GPU when building Desktop?
i would really suggest top-notch graphic card as GPU is one of main source of top-notch gaming.
good GPU- quality game experience. buy something like 690. (too much? Tongue) oh, i believe intel works better with NVidia and ATI with ATI (they merged the GPU and CPU company together i believe)
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-...ce-gtx-690

RAM, who gives a crap, it's cheap, pay 50 bucks or so and get 8 GB. [unless you are running a server(small) than 32GB...]
just make sure you either get one 8GB or 2 4GB's.
just don't get 4 2GB's...
Corsair makes good RAM.
oh, make sure it is DDR3. DDR2 sucks.
http://www.corsair.com/en/

I also suggest buying SSD for your storage. just 200GB to store your Windows OS, and some competitive gaming. i.e. League of Legends, Starcraft (it increases your shit better than HDD)
200 GB was not enough for me, so i went ahead and bought myself a 2TB, 8000RPM (around that) HDD for recordings, music, movies, and por... (nvm)

Window 7 is the way to go. Just go buy it, don't pirate it.
some say Vista is better than 7 for games. I don't think so.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/windows-7-...formance/8
as you can see, Windows 7 has the edge when it comes to higher res gaming.

for PSU, just go ahead, buy 500~800W... make sure to buy one of those which have "nature friendly" thing because it will save your electricity... i dont know how many hours you are gonna play,
but i play for 6 hours in weekends... power saving is important...

for cooling, i recommend something that is appropriate. i have liquid cooling.
i burnt my hand while touching CPU without cooler. it hurts.

buy Sound card, for Christ sake. people have lot's of problems with his/her sound without it.
Asus Sonar DX 5.1 will do awesome.
if you are a DJ, a little more expensive.
http://techreport.com/articles.x/14500
50~100 bucks of spending on sound card would enhance your gaming experience WAAAAAY MOOOORE (i know because i had troubles with sound too until i got myself sound card and no problemo)

for Case, unless you are aiming for crossfire/SLI and extra fancy stuff, i.e. SUPER COOLING MEGA LIQUID FAN, SUPER DUPER MEGA 50TB 10HDD, i would recommend Medium tower.
Small tower- too small to fit in your huge ass GPU
Medium tower-perfect
top tower-too big
http://www.ebuyer.com/327904-nzxt-phanto...a-ph410-b1 <-- sexiest case, smoking hot (literally)
make sure to install all the fans for extra cooling!

have a wonderful shopping then.

Yuuki, I wont quote because Im too lazy.

1. Windows 7 is a mix of windows XP (which almost everything is compatible with) and Windows Vista (Which has a good looking, but not as compatible). I just built mine, and Windows 8 IS AWESOME.

2. To this kind of build, a small tower is more than enough.

3. Calculate and find out how much PSU you'll need, dont just go for a 500~600 when you dont need more than 300~350 (Ex.)

Also, I'll post a new build to you, _RemiX and Red later.
