A friend of mine is having a problem when attempting to play with bots after creating a LAN server.

"<My Cats On Catnip>: im good but my bots are broke..
silly: what's wrong with them?
<My Cats On Catnip>: err its not my bots really but when i try to play with bots it decides to autoswitch the level
silly: hmmmmm
silly: and when you get to the next level
silly: does it switch again?

Could this be related to incorrectly set server commands (e.g. roundtime)? Or is this something else going wrong? All help is appreciated, thanks

Post the server.cfg and see if anyone can spot something.

And please people. Let's keep on the topic about this issue and not pick evrything apart like ZOMG your rates are all messed up.

He probably doesn't have the .nav files for the map and bots can't function without it. When the game doesn't have a .nav file then it attempts to build one and after it's done it switches the map to the next one in the maplist. Try the map again and if it doesn't work it means the automatic .nav creation failed.

Thanks for replying Jay, and forgive my ignorance, but how does a person get a hold of their server.cfg file? Where exactly is it?

Bison, that makes sense, yeah apparently the maps are still automatically changing. Would it be a good idea to ask him to copy what's in the console?

Hmm... make sure he has a server.cfg, it should be located in cstrike/cfg and make sure that he sets mp_timelimit to anything greater than 0.

it happened to me when i was using non steam and waiting for the new update, but unfortunately i dont remember exactly how it got fixed, but i remember i changed the map time length that might help  :-\
