The main reason why the US government are particularly interested and involved in the recent Arab Spring events, particularly Syria, was never about instilling democracy or to remove a "dictator". If that was their main priority, they would have already invaded North Korea a long time ago.

There is a power play at hand. Countries like Syria and Libya are being used as a proxy, or chess pawns in these games that they play. In Syria, the government is supported by the Russians and the Iranians with arms. The rebels, on the other hand, are being "supported" by the US, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar (MacFarquhar, 2012).

However, from another point of view, the situation in Syria has escalated to sectarian violence. A little short info of Syrian's government.

1- If you think that the Syrian People are all in favor of "American Democracy & freedom" then your wrong, Syrians know & hate your government before they are even born, why? simply because your government supplies "The occupation entity of israel" with the latest most sophisticated weapons, plus the political support.. (US cached more than 70 vetos against resolutions concerning the Palestinian land, massacres done by Jewish extremists or army.... & many more... & just lately the US threatened to use veto against any call from the Security council to acknowledge Palestine as a legitimate country).

Just lately some jewish extremists launched a new tourist activity in tel aviv "Snipe a Palestinian", too bad no one cares about this kind of extremism.

2- could you figure out why did the massacres always occur before the security council meetings or the human rights sessions?, always always a massacre happens before 1 day of a national meeting concerning the crisis here in Syria.
- Logically the government has no interest of doing that, especially that the next day a security council meeting will happen.

& just to make it clear, the latest two massacres where done in "alhola" & "darat aza" where to people who support the government.
