Hey Dan,
That HP laptop you posted is good, however since I have HP pavilion DV6 core i5 when I compare it to the new HP laptops I find it lacking not in the performance but its very dull, the sound for hp laptops in general is low but the new hp laptops have a higher sound, and since you are willing to spend that much money on a laptop i would recommend getting this:
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-G74SX-A1-17-3...B00542SUD8
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-G75VW-DS71-17...007Z92SKE/
http://www.amazon.com/G53SW-XA1-Republic...B004X5XL3Q (My friend have this one and he can play any game he wants on ultra settings and he can play the games on 3D as it comes with a 3D glasses but make sure you ask about the 3D part before you buy it incase i made a mistake with the model :S)

Those laptops are really good and have an excellent performance, however their only downfall is that they are big and heavy, and if you dont like them then that HP laptop is good too, its only problem is that it lacks in the aesthetic side, but it have a good performance.
Hope that helped Smile

HP Latop gets hot, so hot that you dont need to warm your hands on winter.
I remember when I had HP laptop playing GTA4 in December and I would warm my arm on the side of the laptop
you could actually get a burn from laptop.

after all, it should be called 'lap-cooking-top"
you get it?

also you have to remember that Intel's CPU-Integrated Graphics Unit has improved SIGNIFICANTLY last few months. They are actually viable in gamings like Starcraft, CSS, and even League of Legends!

Double post

btw Dan, if you are going for 1500,
i want to ask you:

1. Are you going to be using that laptop for more than 5 years?
2. Is your dad the President of New Zealand?
3. Are you going to be carrying the laptop even when you are taking a shit?

but other than that, damn that laptop is orgasmic.

Not true my laptop is HP too and its always on 24/7 when im not using it i leave it open to dl something and if i use it for playing games such as GTA or any other game it works fine, and his hp laptop is a new model so it wont heat they fixed it.
